Shri Indra Dev Narayan has assumed the charge of Chairman cum Managing Director of Mineral Exploration And Consultancy Limited (formerly Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd.) (MECL), a Mini Ratna I CPSE under the aegis of Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India..

A mining graduate, Shri Narayan is an alumnus of Vishveshvarya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur of Year 1990 batch. Prior to his taking charge as CMD, MECL he was the Regional Director of CMPDIL, Bilaspur.

Shri Narayan has also attained the First Class Mines Managers Certificate of Competency from Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS).

Shri Narayan has been awarded as the best General Manager by Coal India Limited for the performance for the FY 2018-19. He has also been bestowed with an award for Best Planner for Planning and Design Work. He has distinctly of leading the team of planners, which planned the opencast mine with highest annual target capacity till date i.e. GEVRA Expansion OCP (70 Mty). Played a pivotal role in getting the Environmental clearance from MOEF for Kusmunda OCP of SECL which hold record for the highest environmental clearance sanctioned for the single coal Mining project i.e. 62.50 mty. Under his leadership, the CMPDI Regional Institute, Bilaspur has drilled highest drilling meterage of 187317 m in a single year since inception.

Shri Narayan was a key member in planning and design of ambitious FIRST MILE CONNECTIVITY programme of MoC. He has been an active part of the CIL Business Delegation that visited Australia in 2017.

Under his splendid vision, MECL will revive as a tech-driven consulting organisation to serve the mineral and mining industry in the nation and abroad opting on specialisations, cross-skilling and other transformative initiatives and customized solutions for the clients.

Shri Ghanshyam Sharma, is a Chartered Accountant, having experience of more than 30 years in audit and working of various PSUs engaged in the field of Finance, Engineering, Telecommunication, Power, Consultancy, Construction and Paper, etc. He has worked in different capacities in varied Public Sector Undertakings like Telecom Consultants (India) Limited (TCIL), Nuclear Power Corporation Limited (NPCIL) and Hindustan Newsprint Limited (HNL). He has vast experience in the Project Management of Power and Telecom Projects.

Besides, he has got exposure in the field of financing of projects, i.e. raising of funds through issue of Bonds, Term Loan, Cash Credit etc. from bank and Suppliers’ Credit etc. He was widely travelled and served in India & abroad like Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Afghanistan beside special assignment with the United Nations.

Shri Ghanshyam Sharma has joined Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) (Formerly Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd.) on 27th February, 2018. Prior to this, he was Director (Finance) in Hindustan Newsprint Limited (HNL).

Shri Pankaj Pandey, a Mining Engineer, alumnus of ISM, Dhanbad (now IIT(ISM), Dhanbad), year 1995 batch, has an experience of more than 26 years in the field of mine planning, R&D as well as introducing digital technologies i.e. Data Analytics, machine learning/AI. He was further assigned with work tours to USA and Australia. He has also served as the Technical Secretary to the Director (Technical), CMPDIL.

He began his career with underground mines of Coal India Ltd. (CIL). Later on, he gained experience with open cast mine projects of Northern Coalfields Ltd. (NCL). Prior to MECL, Shri Pandey was posted as Chief Manager at Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI) a Miniratna subsidiary of Coal India Ltd. (CIL) wherein he worked on various high-end projects.

Shri Pandey joined Mineral Exploration And Consultancy Ltd. (MECL) (formerly Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd.) on 6th April, 2023.
