Independent Agency for Sampling and Analysis of Coal credibility is of utmost importance. At present MECL is working as third party agency for sampling and analysis of washed and raw coal despatches for steel plants of SAIL & powerplants of DVC from CCL, BCCL, ECL, SECL and MCL
|
GENERAL
|
-
Quality of any product is of paramount importance.
-
Quality of coal despatches is most important factor towards customer satisfaction in present marketing scenario especialy for steel and power plants.
-
In the need for independent agency for sampling and analysis to overcome dispute between supplier and consumer, MECL with its vast experience and expertise in sampling and analysis work has emerged as an independent referee agency.
-
Collection of samples of coal despatches by rail at loading end rake - wise as per Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
-
Sub - sampling & preparation of laboratory samples as per BIS at respective sidings.
-
Analyse the samples in MECL laboratory for ash & moisture % (at 40 deg. c & 60% rh), GCV UHV and Total Moisture etc. As per BIS and submit analytical report in prescribed format and within time limit.

THIRD PARTY AGENCY
|
-
At present MECL is working as third party agency for sampling and analysis of washed and raw coal despatches for steel plants of SAIL & powerplants of DVC from CCL, BCCL, ECL, SECL and MCL
-
About 450 rakes per month despatched to SAIL plants & DVC power plants from various loading points of BCCL, CCL, ECL, MCL, WCL & SECL involving about 14 lakh tonnes / month ( 165 lakh tonnes per annum ) is being sampled.
-
About 1400 samples per month i.e.About 16800 samples per annum generated are being analysed asper Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS).
|
AS REFEREE LABORATORY
|
-
MECL is recognised referee laboratory for analysis of referee samples of coal from both loading and unloading ends for GEB, AEB, RSEB, MSEB and CIL subsidiaries.
-
About 8000 referee coal samples generated from coal supplies from WCL, SECL, MCL, NCL to various power stations of MSEB, GEB, RSEB and Indraprastha Power Generation Corporation Limited (GENCO) are being analysed annualy.
